Director of Music at Church of the Ascension (Episcopal) in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle.

David Boeckh is the Director of Music at Church of the Ascension in Magnolia. Originally from Seattle, David started playing the organ as a teenager when his family was living in Berlin, Germany. David continued his organ studies with Mel Butler at St. Mark’s Cathedral and went on to attend the University of Washington, Oberlin Conservatory, and Indiana University, where his teachers included Carole Terry, James David Christie, and Christopher Young. A passionate church musician, David has served Episcopal congregations throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Midwest, and before coming to Ascension, David was the Associate Director of Music at St. James Cathedral in Chicago.  In addition to his work at Ascension, David frequently performs around the Seattle area as an accompanist, choral singer, continuo player, and recitalist, and he often plays for evensong services at Epiphany Parish.
